CLDC has begun developing its latest retail and entertainment center in Alaska, Four Corners Commons, which is centrally located in the heart of the Matanuska-Susitna Valley. This approximately 50-acre center will be situated in the northwest quadrant of CLDC’s 132-acre site, along the south side of the Palmer-Wasilla Highway and west side of New Trunk Road.
The site is ideally located four miles west of Palmer, seven miles east of Wasilla and less than 3 miles from a regional hospital, medical office campus and the Matanuska-Susitna College campus. CLDC’s other successful retail and entertainment center, Tikahtnu Commons, is located approximately 35 miles south, in northeast Anchorage.
CLDC has completed Phase I of the Four Corners Commons development. In 2011, CLDC finished the utility entitlements by installing a city water main along New Trunk Road to service the property. In mid-2012, CLDC leveled the northwest quadrant of the property in preparation for vertical construction.
CLDC’s future plans also include developing the remainder of its 132-acre site, which could include expansion of Four Corners Commons. The future plans include a large medical office campus, light industrial space and either a residential development or a school site.
